Pablo Schreiber Wants to Carry on the Mantle of Wolverine
Certain things just go together. Pizza and wings, peanut butter and jelly, Hugh Jackman and Wolverine. Unfortunately, Hugh Jackman no longer wishes to portray the fan favorite character and was given a critically acclaimed send off in Logan. While Hugh is done, the X-Men franchise is still going and is showing no sign of stopping anytime soon. That means at some point, another Wolverine may emerge. Recasting such an iconic character could be more like pairing pizza with pineapples and less like the pepperoni deliciousness we all know and love. However, Pablo Schreiber, believes he can bring that pepperoni flavor to the role.
Pablo Schreiber is hot right now as a star on the Starz hit show American Gods and, in a recent interview he has let the world know he wants to take up the claws.
“I was a huge fan growing up of Wolverine and of Daredevil are my two favorite guys and I would jump at the chance to play either one of them in a second. And you know I think Hugh [Jackman] is done now with Wolverine, so maybe it’s time for a reboot. Maybe it’s time for a new Wolverine.”
While it may be to soon to start thinking about a reboot, Pablo Schreiber could be a great option. Along with American Gods, he also appeared on season 2 of The Wire, in Michael Bay’s 13 Hours, and in Orange Is The New Black. Aside from his resume, Schreiber has ties to the character as well. His brother, Liev Schreiber, portrayed the villain Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
There are currently no plans for the hero to be recast, but if he was, would you like to see Pablo Schreiber take the role? If not, who would you like to see eventually pick up the mantle? Let us know in the comments section below!
