Salim Brock Akil, one of the show-runners for Black Lightning’s tv show, stated recently his interest in seeing the character Static in the show.

“I love the idea of Static Shock, and in success, hopefully, we’ll be able to pull other characters in in that way,” Salim said. “So, I’m holding out hope because I love that character.”

Static, better known as Static Shock (which is incorrect because his name is Static), is a high-school student who was doused with an experimental chemical, gained  electromagnetic powers and became a costumed crusader against crime.

In that same statement, Salim expressed that there could be a crossover with the Arrow-verse in the future.

“The storytelling is a little bit more political. It’s topical, and it’s a little grittier. … It doesn’t mean that down the road there won’t be visits,” Salim teased.
