Anyone excited for Black Lightning has been following closely since the series was announced, and then picked up by the CW. Recently executive producers Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil appeared in Austin at the ATX Television Festival and revealed tons about the upcoming show. One of those tidbits was the first season’s overarching villain, Tobias Whale!!!

Tobias Whale is a villain that has a long history with our titular hero. Whale is the leader of the 100 gang that is mentioned heavily in the first trailer for Black Lightning. This led many to believe Whale would be the main villain, but with confirmation from Salim, we now can be sure to have a showdown between Black Lightning and his classic foe.

Through the first trailer, we found a retired Black Lightning whose community was falling to pieces. We now can assume that the man behind the violence in the community is Whale. With Whale being one of the first Black Lightning villains, it will be interesting to see if they have a history in the show. As of now, there is no casting news for Whale.
