Tom Holland Confirms Spider-Man Trilogy is Planned

Spider-Man: Homecoming press tour has begun around the world.

In a recent interview with the French site AlloCiné, Tom Holland confirmed that there is going to be two extra movies in the character arc, apart from his appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and so:

“Yes, there is what we call the arc of the character. There is still a lot of room for Peter Parker and Spider-Man, especially, to grow in the next two movies. He’s definitely not the finished article by the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming and I really look forward to exploring the different ways he can grow up and… go through puberty I guess. It’s going to be an exciting couple of movies.”

When asked to clarify what he meant by ‘couple of movies’, Holland clarified:

“There will be a Spider-Man 2 and 3, It won’t be Homecoming only”

When asked if this was new information he joked:

“Yeah, well now you know, sorry Marvel. Whoops! Guns out”

This makes an interesting announcement, since Sony said a couple of months ago they would finish their contract with Marvel after Spider-Man 2 came out. However, if there are plans for a third movie already, it’s not difficult to imagine talks are already happening between Marvel and Sony.
