E3 2017: A Core Pokemon RPG Is In Development for the Nintendo Switch

At this year’s E3 for Nintendo the CEO of the Pokémon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara, just revealed that the Nintendo Switch will receive a main RPG entry in to the series. There are very few details at the moment but it is a big revelation for the series as Pokémon hasn’t had a home console Pokémon release in its 21-year history, largely sticking to its handheld devices. There is no release date as of yet though Ishihara noted that it “may not release for more than a year.”

However, there will be new Pokémon games out later this year in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. They will be available on the Nintendo 3DS this November. Meanwhile, Pokkén Tournament DX is also expected to launch later this year.

Check out the video announcement below:

Are you excited for Nintendo’s latest revelation? I certainly am. There is a real possibility that Nintendo can really push the boat out for this RPG given that it is on the Nintendo Switch, a far more powerful console than any of its predecessors.
