Zhang Ziyi Joins Cast of ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’
Golden Globe nominated actress, Zhang Ziyi, will join Legendary’s Monsterverse in the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
Zhang will join previously announced cast members Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Bradley Whitford, Millie Bobby Brown, Aisha Hinds, Sally Hawkins and O’Shea Jackson Jr.
The film is meant to take place a a few years after the events in 2014’s, Godzilla and Zhang’s character is said to have a significant role in the undercover organization, Monarch, revealed in the first movie.
Michael Dougherty (Krampus) will direct, based on a script written by Zach Shields. Recently, Adam Wingard was tapped to direct the following film in the Monsterverse that will see the clash of both monster heavyweights in 2020 with Godzilla vs. Kong.
