Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa regally sits atop his throne, looking every bit the badass we already know he is.
The teaser is set to premiere during game four of the NBA Finals, which airs Friday, June 9 at 6 pm ET on ABC. Of course, if you’re not a sports fan chances are the teaser will hit the internet right after its TV debut.
It was also recently confirmed that T’Challa would be in Avengers: Infinity War.
While serious details are being kept under wraps, the official synopsis does offer a broad look at the internal conflicts T’Challa will face.
Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Forest Whitaker, Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis, Black Panther claws its way into theaters February 16, 2018.
