Wonder Woman exceeded expectations at the box office over its opening weekend and now its set a record for the second best Tuesday in June for a live-action feature, raking in $14.4 million yesterday.
The film standing in Wonder Woman‘s way for the top spot is the 2015 movie, Jurassic World, which made $24.3 million.
This past weekend has been filled with praise for the Patty Jenkins directed film (even from actors and directors in the MCU) and she even scored a new record for biggest box-office opening for a female director ever, knocking Sam Taylor-Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) from the top spot.
Gadot is contractually obligated to return in the titular role for a Wonder Woman sequel, but Jenkins has not officially been signed on to direct it. However, both Jenkins and the studio have expressed interest in her return and negotiations are said to be underway soon.
