Good friends and frequent collaborators Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler will join forces once again on Wrong Answer. It’s the story of the largest academic cheating scandal in US history.
Jordan will play math teacher Damany Lewis, who tried to help his students by gaming the system. When Lewis’ underprivileged students at Parks Middle School near Atlanta couldn’t keep up with the standardized tests of the No Child Left Behind program, he and other teachers came up with a plan to cheat the scores to keep the school from being closed.
The film is based on a New Yorker article by Rachel Aviv.
As if having Jordan and Coogler together again isn’t enough, the script is being written by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Yes, it’s like a Black Panther reunion.
Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are producing through Plan B alongside Arnon Milchan’s New Regency. Aviv and Lewis will be consultants on the project.
