Jennifer Connelly Joins TNT’s ‘Snowpiercer’ Pilot
TNT’s Snowpiercer pilot is slowly filling out its passenger list. Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly has joined the cast.
The TV adaptation is based on the 2013 sci-fi film about a future where the Earth is covered in ice and the survivors live on an always moving train. While those in first class at the front of the train live a luxurious, comfortable life, the back of the train is full of the lower class who must make terrible sacrifices to survive. Fed up with the status quo, a revolution begins to take shape.

Chris Evans and Octavia Spencer starred in the 2013 film Snowpiercer.
Connelly will play Melanie Cavill, the Voice of the Train, a first class passenger who makes the daily announcements. Unlike others in first class she is fascinated by those in the back of the train.
Hamilton and Blackish star Daveed Diggs has already been cast as “Layton Well, a prisoner barely surviving the harsh conditions in the tail end of the train.”
The pilot is being directed by Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) and written by Josh Friedman (The Sarah Connor Chronicles).
