It goes without saying that the main topic of discussion amongst every conversation is Wonder Woman. After debuting to an amazing domestic first weekend gross, an even better worldwide gross and mostly positive reviews from critics and general audiences, it’s no doubt that our favorite Amazonian Princess deserves every accolade coming her way. If this film is not at the top of your lunch break conversation amongst co-workers, it’s probably because you haven’t seen it yet. If that’s the case, I don’t want to be rude but… HURRY UP!
However, the MCU has been the main topic of discussion for almost ten years, setting an even higher standard for Comic Book films. Warner Bros and DC Comics have definitely had their work cut out for them. They own some of the most popular Superhero characters known to man but unfortunately their big screen adaptions haven’t always lived up to the hype. Man Of Steel and Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice weren’t the big hits that people had hoped for and let’s not forget about that one movie…
that one movie..
….(whispers) Green Lantern!
Word on the street is that Wonder Woman is the best DC Comics film to date. From it’s depiction of the fictional, all-female island of Themyscira, Diana and Steve Trevor’s hilarious interactions, the fight scenes, the score and much more. The film is so good even some of the MCU’s heavy hitters couldn’t help but offer their praise of the film. From Netflix villains to Avengers heroes, the accolades from the Marvel camp is great to witness. Check out the tweets below:
It’s no secret that DC Comics and Marvel Comics have had an officially unofficial rivalry going on for decades. On every blog, geek thread and comic-book related conversation on the internet fans somehow find a way to debate about why one comic universe is better than the other. Even now, the MCU’s direct competition is potentially the DC Cinematic Universe if their future films do as well as Wonder Woman is doing at this very moment. Despite the rivalry, it’s nice to see that the love can be spread amongst the talent. Can’t we all just get along?
