‘Wonder Woman’ Soars to $100.5 Million Opening Weekend

Yesterday we found out that Wonder Woman director, Patty Jenkins, had just broke the record for top box office opening for a female director and now we know that Wonder Woman will open with $100.5-million at the box office.

Wonder Woman becomes the 16th superhero film to break the $100 million mark domestically for its opening weekend, joining fellow DCEU film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million), as well as some Marvel Studios films like The Avengers ($207 million) and Captain America: Civil War ($179.1 million).

With a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating at Rotten Tomatoes and an A on CinemaScore from audiences, it’s no wonder that Wonder Woman is cleaning up at the box office, exceeding expectations as initial estimates said the film would bring in $65 million in its opening weekend.
