More and more information is being revealed about Josh Boone’s upcoming X-Men spin-off New Mutants especially in regards to casting since it was recently announced that Maisie Williams and Anna Joy-Taylor both joined the film.  But after an international search, the final new member has joined the cast.

Blu Hunt is now Danielle Moonstar aka Mirage.  Hunt is new to the acting industry and was recently in The Originals.

The studio prioritized finding an actress with ethnic authenticity to the role, and searched within the U. S., Canada, and the U. K. before they finally found Hunt.  The character Moonstar is a Cheyenne superheroine with the power to create illusions based on a person’s fears and desires, so it seems apt that Hunt will play this role.  The actress is part Native American and her taking on Mirage is excellent representation.

It is believed that Mirage will play an important role in New Mutants and with Hunt now on the rise, we hope to see more of her in the future.

New Mutants will hit theaters in April 2018.
