Silicon Valley star Thomas Middleditch is the latest high-profile name to join the cast of Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
He joins the previously announced Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Michael Dougherty (Krampus) will direct and co-write with his partner Zach Shields.
The plot is still being kept secret but based on the first two monster franchise films, Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island, I’m guessing Godzilla fights another giant monster and destroys a major city in the process.
Silicon Valley was recently renewed by HBO for a fifth season. However, before he heads back to his Emmy nominated role, Middleditch can be heard as one of the voices in the upcoming Captain Underpants, out June 2.
This is not Middleditch’s first appearance in the franchise, as he had an off-screen voice appearance in Kong: Skull Island.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is scheduled to open March 22, 2019, with Godzilla vs. Kong set for May 22, 2020.
Has this new casting made you more excited about the Godzilla/King Kong franchise?
