Domestically, the movie achieved great success, raking in $342.7 million whereas international box offices showed the movie brought in $454.7 million just yesterday. International market breakdown reveals China contributed $98 million, followed by the U.K. with $47 million and Germany with $25 million. The movie’s total budget was around $200 million.
The movie was written and directed by James Gunn and starred Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff. Gunn will return to write and direct the third Guardians installment.
