Shuri May Confirm Black Panther Inclusion in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
Almost two weeks ago, the stand-in casting call for Avengers: Infinity War revealed the need for a woman with a dark complexion and a shaved head, sparking speculation about a possible inclusion of the Black Panther cast in the film. Now, another nugget of casting information recently discovered by MCU Exchange may further confirm this involvement.
Hidden among the credited cast list on Infinity War’s IMDB page is a listing for Crystal Michelle, who is clearly stated as the stunt double for Black Panther character Shuri.
Shuri is T’Challa’s younger half sister, and she takes up her brother’s mantle as ruler and legendary defender of Wakanda in the comics. She will be portrayed by actress Letitia Wright when Black Panther premieres on February 16, 2018.
While IMDB’s cast lists are not always accurate, this specific inclusion does raise some interesting questions about possible connections between the two films.
Black Panther is sure to give fans a great first look at the badass royal family of Wakanda as they deal with various fractions pursuing political power in the country. How might the relationship between Shuri and T’Challa change in the face of this internal strife?
Is it possible that only Shuri will be in Infinity War, considering Chadwick Boseman’s appearance in the film has yet to be confirmed? And if so, what role will she play – political diplomat, or new Avenger?
