Supernatural’s Mark Sheppard Not Returning for 13th Season

Supernatural says goodbye to one of its major characters for good.

TVLine.com confirms that Mark Sheppard’s Crowley will not be returning for the 13th season of The CW’s Supernatural.

In last week’s season 12 finale, Crowley (Sheppard) sacrificed his own life in attempts to defeat Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino). Fans of the show know that Crowley was initially an enemy to the Winchesters but eventually became “an uneasy ally”, saving the brothers numerous times throughout the show.

Sheppard himself posted on his Instagram a farewell message to fans of the show earlier this week.

Sheppard’s departure shows that even the most important characters in the long-running CW show are not safe. What is not confirmed however is if this will be the last time we will see Crowley. Many characters have returned in their deceased form, but based on the image above, Crowley’s presence will be missed for the foreseeable future.
