First Look at Laura Dern, Benicio Del Toro in ‘The Last Jedi’
By now everyone has seen Vanity Fair’s fantastic Star Wars covers. The story offers a preview of the latest film in the franchise, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. One of the surprises of the feature is a reveal of the new characters played by Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.

Dern is Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, “a prominent officer in the Resistance.”
Del Toro plays DJ, a “shady character” who remains a mystery. He actually doesn’t have a name in the movie, but director Rian Johnson calls him DJ for reasons that will apparently be made clear when the film is released.

The special issue of Vanity Fair has four covers featuring characters of the dark side, the light side, the resistance and a solo cover of the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia.
