It appears Justice League Dark has lost another director. Variety is reporting that Doug Liman has left the project, however, Warner Bros. have not commented.

It seems to be a scheduling conflict with Liman’s film Chaos Walking, which recently received the greenlight by Lionsgate.

Sources say meetings with new potential directors have begun.

“While plot details are being kept under wraps, “Dark Universe” revolves around a dark Justice League team that consists of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon. The film will play a major role in the new D.C. Cinematic Universe.”

Guillermo del Toro was previously attached but the delays resulted in Del Toro leaving. Scott Rudin is producing the project and the script is being written by Michael Gilio.

Liman has plans for a second Edge Of Tomorrow film, and is an active director overall. Perhaps the delays and uncertainty on the Justice League Dark film is what also lead to his departure.

Liman’s next film, American Made, will be in theatres this fall, starring Tom Cruise.
