Tom Hardy to Star in the Title Role for Sony’s ‘Venom’ Movie
With a release date set for October of next year, Sony has chosen both a director and a star for their upcoming Venom flick.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Academy Award nominated actor, Tom Hardy, is in the final negotiation stage for the title role of Eddie Brock.
Sony confirmed the news this afternoon, by sharing a picture of Tom Hardy wearing a t-shirt of the villainous Venom via Twitter. Check it out below:

Venom is one of Spider-Man’s most well-known antagonists and also a fan favorite. The symbiote was introduced to Marvel Comics in 1988 by writer David Michelinie and artists Todd MacFarlane and Mike Zeck. His first appearance on the big screen came in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 and he was portrayed by Topher Grace.
The report also said that Zombieland director, Ruben Fleischer, is close to snagging the director role for the film.
