Angela Bassett Joins Cast of ‘Mission Impossible 6’
Mission Impossible is the franchise that keeps on giving!
Tom Cruise is slated to star as the operative Ethan Hunt in a sixth installment of the spy franchise. While franchise veterans Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg are also confirmed to return to the film, it’s not uncommon for some new faces to join in on the fun. One of those new faces is none other than Hollywood royalty herself… ANGELA BASSETT!

Bassett is confirmed to be playing the CIA director in the film that will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie who also directed the previous film in the franchise Rogue Nation. The plot of the film is unknown but filming is currently underway.
Bassett is no stranger to roles like this as she has starred in other spy films such as This Means War, Olympus Has Fallen, and London Has Fallen. She is currently a series regular on Ryan Murphy’s anthology series American Horror Story where she has played iconic figures like Marie Laveau. More recently, she has taken the moniker of royalty in a literal sense as Queen Ramonda, mother of T’Challa, in the upcoming Black Panther film. Angela Bassett has had an extremely abundant career that spans over four decades and no matter what role she plays, it’s a guarantee that she is going to command the screen.
