Michael Fassbender to Appear in ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’
If you’re as big of an X-Men fan as I am then this will definitely get you through that beginning-of-the-week slump. Michael Fassbender is set to reprise his role as the metal manipulating mutant, Magneto in 2018’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. This will be Fox’s second go at Chris Claremont’s iconic Dark Phoenix Saga since the tragedy that was 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.
I know what you’re thinking; you’re not on board and you’re wondering why in the hell are we getting another X-Men movie rather than focusing on new characters and you’re probably whining about Fox giving the rights back to Marvel. If so, you can go ahead and leave because this is lit! Although X-Men: Apocalypse had its issues, Fassbender’s portrayal of a young Erik Lensher was one of the bright spots of the film and entire prequel trilogy. Just a few short months ago, Fassbender was unsure of his future in the franchise but here we are, #blessed.

This is all coming from Josh Horowitz who ran into Michael Fassbender. He also confirmed that Magneto won’t be appearing in New Mutants, alongside newly confirmed cast members Maisie Williams & Anya-Taylor Joy. The same goes for James McCavoy’s Professor X, which has this writer wondering what time period this film will take place in.
Check out the tweet below and let us know your thoughts! Are we simply over the X-Men franchise, or are we here for this? Sound off on Twitter.
Want to know Fassbender's X-MEN future? Bet big on him appearing in DARK PHOENIX but not NEW MUTANTS. Oh, I just saw Michael Fassbender BTW
