DC Names June 3 Wonder Woman Day
DC and Warner Bros. are really going all in on Wonder Woman. With the film hitting theaters June 2, DC is celebrating the Amazon Princess June 3 with Wonder Woman Day.
Comic book shops, bookstores and libraries will feature free comics, as well as in store and digital promotions. Participants include Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Costco, Books-A-Million and Amazon.
The free comics will be a reprint of the first issue of Greg Rucka and Liam Sharp’s current series and DC Superhero Girls Wonder Woman Day, which has a peek at Shea Fontana and Yancey Labat’s third book in the series.
A Wonder Woman Day activity kit with a coloring book and games will also be available for digital download.
Before the film’s release DC All Access will have Wonder Woman week online with programming dedicated to the Princess of Themyscira.
The special day, in conjunction with the movie celebrates the 75th anniversary of Wonder Woman’s first solo comic book.
Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Lucy Davis and David Thewlis, bursts into theaters June 2.
Following her solo movie, Wonder Woman will then be seen in Justice League Nov. 17.
