Adam Warlock Won’t Appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
Warning! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 spoilers ahead!
In one of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 post credits scenes, one of Marvel’s most important characters made his first appearance in the MCU.
As Ayesha laments her failure in killing the Guardians, she reveals her new creation Adam. Yes Adam Warlock is now in the MCU.
However, don’t get too excited since it may be awhile before fans see him again. Though Avengers: Infinity War is set to unite Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with the cosmic universe, Adam Warlock will not be a part of this story.
For the unfamiliar, Adam Warlock is an ancient and powerful being in the universe who often protects or wields the power of the soul gem. This would make him an important piece of the MCU’s ongoing infinity stone saga.
Guardians writer/director James Gunn revealed in a Facebook Q&A that there are no plans for Adam Warlock to be in Avengers: Infinity War.
“Adam Warlock will not be in Infinity War,” said Gunn. “He will have a future in the MCU. But will it be in Infinity War? It will not.”
Well that’s a surprisingly straight-forward answer for Marvel.
So everyone will just have to wait until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for their next look at Adam Warlock.
