‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Renewed For Fifth Season
Marvel fans REJOICE! Agents Of Shield has been renewed for a fifth season!
Kicking off Marvel and Disney’s television portion of their extremely expansive superhero universe back in 2013, Agents of Shield got off to a rocky start but managed to find it’s footing and built the loyalty of a solid group of viewers along the way. The series picked up where Agent Coulson’s death left off in the first Avengers film where it was revealed that he, in fact, survived being shot by Loki with the help of Nick Fury and some extra terrestrial DNA. Since then the show has explored many topics such as the emergence of Inhumans, the rise and the fall of SHIELD as an organization as well as introducing us to characters from the comics like Daisy Johnson aka Quake, Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird and the Robbie Reyes version of Ghostrider.
This current season of AOS can arguably be called the series’ best season yet. While not necessarily known for it’s ground-breaking ratings, the excitement the show manages to ignite is most definitely the reason why we are getting a fifth season. Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Coulson, took to his twitter account to express his excitement about the show’s renewal:

With the season finale of season four coming up next week, the question becomes what stories can we expect to be explored for season five? Could Quake become the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Will Fitz and Simmons get their love back on track? What will become of Mack, YoYo and the Framework? Will Coulson and May get back to where they used to be? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z! Just kidding…
In all seriousness, it’s exciting to see a show like AOS last so long especially after having such a controversial debut those years ago. Many people speculate that the fifth season will be it’s final season, but there has been no confirmation on that. But if those rumors hold true, perhaps we can expect Agent Coulson to return by Nicki Fury’s side in the MCU films. It may even increase our chances of seeing Chloe Bennett appear as Quake to help the Avengers in another worldly crisis. Are you guys excited for a fifth season?
