‘New Mutants’ Casts Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy
It’s no secret Fox has a lot of X-Men movies in the works. Well now we’re getting our first casting news for New Mutants.
Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams will play Wolfsbane. She will be joined by Split breakout Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik.
As her name suggests Wolfsbane can turn into a wolf. Though she has trouble reconciling her powers with her religious beliefs.
Magik is a teleporter who can also use sorcery.
This is not these characters first appearance in an X-Men film. Both mutants’ real names appeared on Stryker’s computer in X2: X-Men United.
The film will reportedly also feature Cannonball, Moonstar, Sunspot and possibly Warlock.
New Mutants is being directed by Josh Boone from a script co-written by Boone and Knate Gwaltney. Production is scheduled to start in July.
