ABC’s ‘Black-ish’ Spinoff Heading to Freeform
Black-ish fans rejoice! More news on the highly anticipated spinoff which would follow Yara Shahidi’s Zoey Johnson in college like a modern-day Different World. Well, THR just came out with a report confirming that the show is set to debut on ABC Studio’s Freeform network.
The spinoff will be joining a pretty nice lineup on the Freeform network like Marvel’s New Warriors, Cloak & Dagger, Tyra Banks’s Life Size 2 & more. Joining Johnson on the new series will be Trevor Jackson (American Crime), Chris Parnell (“Saturday Night Live”) and Matt Walsh (“Veep”).
Black-ish has faired very well over the past few seasons not only in ratings but with critical acclaim as well, earning Tracy Ellis Ross a Golden Globe award. There’s no doubt that the show’s rising momentum will only propel the spinoff into high heights.
