The CW Picks Up Black Lightning Series
Not long ago, Black Lightning landed a pilot with The CW. Now, the network has announced that it will be picking up DC’s Black Lightning as a series, adding it to the network’s roster of superheroes.
Black Lightning is also known as Jefferson Pierce, a man who has retired from his secret-identity and crime-fighting days. However, when his only daughter, hell-bent on justice, is recruited into a local gang, Pierce breaks out his old suit.

Black Lightning was originally created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden and appeared first in self-titled comic “Black Lightning #1.” He is the first DC African-American hero to have his very own standalone comic.
The show will star Cress Williams, Nefessa Williams, China Anne McClain, and Christine Adams. It will be produced by Berlanti productions, who also created Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow.
