Deadpool Animated Show from Donald Glover Coming to FXX

The popular R-rated superhero will be coming to your television screens soon.  FXX has ordered an adult animated comedy of Marvel‘s Deadpool to be created by Donald Glover and Stephen Glover.

Marvel television chief Jeph Loeb expressed excitement, stating:

Deadpool, Donald and FX [are] the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth! […] We’re thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with Legion continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation.

FX original programming president Nick Grad also shared enthusiasm and said:

Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta. With the success of Legion, we’re looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original.

Though it is exciting news to hear that an animated Deadpool will become a television series, there has been no update so far on who is being considered to voice this infamous hero.  Perhaps they’ll bring in Ryan Reynolds.

It seems that Donald Glover will be kept very busy this upcoming year with this project as while as he settles into his major role in Lion King as the king himself, Simba.  He’s also set to appear on Spider-Man: Homecoming and the upcoming Han Solo movie

The series is currently untitled, but will feature ten episodes.  It is set to air in 2018.
