Michael Rooker Dishes on ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’
Michael Rooker is not one to rest on his laurels, especially where Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is concerned. The actor, who plays Yondu, completely immersed himself in his character and in so doing, discovered some pretty big surprises.
The biggest surprise? That Yondu was Quill’s father. Rooker recently spoke with ComicBook.com about the big reveal and all the events that led up to it:
“It was a gig. I was to pick up the kid and bring him to Ego, right? I decided not to because I find out things about [Ego] that I don’t really agree with and I don’t like so, hence my opinion of him being a jackass! So, I keep the little guy and I like him. He’s got spunk. In the beginning, I think I use him and then I begin to really, really enjoy and like him, ” Rooker says.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opened this weekend to $145 million domestic box office, topping off its worldwide release at a whopping $425 million.
