‘Supergirl’ Season Two Finale Features Season Three Villain
Supergirl has a lot on her plate headed into the end of season two. Her boyfriend’s mother is a super powerful alien queen who hates Kara and Earth, her new friend Lena Luthor is possibly teaming up with said queen and one of Superman’s most evil foes General Zod is set to make an appearance.
The last thing she needs is another villain to worry about. Unfortunately, that’s just what she’s getting when season three’s big bad shows up in season two’s finale.

Tyler Hoechlin is set to return as Clark Kent/Superman for the season two finale of Supergirl.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Comic Book Resources that fans “will get a glimpse of the Season 3 villain in the finale.”
A glimpse most likely means just enough of a cameo to set up next season.
While the new foe could obviously be a new character, there are a few candidates already on the show.
The most likely choice is Zod, though that would feel similar to what Non did in season one. There’s also the possibility Lena could finally go full Luthor and turn heel. Considering Katie McGrath was made a series regular for season three, this is a good guess. Finally, there’s still the mystery of Lynda Carter’s secretly alien president. An evil alien with all the powers of the president would be a really formidable villain for Supergirl and her friends to battle.

Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant will return to National City in the final two episodes of Supergirl’s second season.
Ultimately fans will have to wait until Monday, May 22 to watch the finale titled Nevertheless, She Persisted and see who the next big bad is.
Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 pm on The CW.
