Comedian Jimmy O. Yang Joins ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Cast

Jon M. Chu has been hard at work putting together a star-studded cast for the upcoming Warner Bros. film Crazy Rich Asians. The film is based on the best selling novel of the same name written by author Kevin Kwan. The film has been creating a buzz across social media as it boasts a cast of all Asian actors. Say what?! Yes, you read that correctly. A Hollywood film with an entirely Asian cast. An American made Hollywood movie hasn’t featured an all Asian casting roster since the 1993 award winning film The Joy Luck Club.

As casting news continues to surface, Deadline has reported that popular comedian Jimmy O. Yang has now joined the cast of Crazy Rich Asians. Yang is a stand up comedian and actor who is known for his role as Jian-Yang on the hit HBO series Silicon Valley. Besides being the funny guy, Yang has also shown his range as an actor after starring opposite Mark Wahlberg in the drama film Patriots Day where he portrayed real life hero Dun Meng. Yang also did a guest appearance on hit show Criminal Minds as a psychotic college student.
