Justice League: Aquaman is an Outcast Who can’t Control his Abilities

The DCEU is in high gear this year. After Wonder Woman (which comes out on JUNE 2ND, in case anyone forgot), Warner Bros. is introducing us to the Justice League. We’ve already received small clips giving us a look at each character (via Batman V Superman), and the JL trailer gave us an even better look at everyone afterwards. That being said, we don’t know much about the live-action versions of these iconic heroes. Luckily, Jason Mamoa has decided to give us a bit of insight about his character.

Among many things touche on in an interview with GQ, Mamoa got a chance to explain a little bit about his version of Aquaman:

“The guy was never really accepted on land, and he was never really accepted in Atlantis. He’s a half-breed. But he’s the best of both worlds. He just doesn’t know how to handle his powers. So it’s kind of a coming of age for a young man to a man, or a man to a king. He’s lost a lot of things and he’s got to cope. He’s an outsider.”

So it looks like we’ll get to see Mamoa’s Aquaman still developing his powers, as well as his character. We haven’t met any of these characters, so we still want to see them grow and become the great heroes we all know they’re meant to be with time.
