Actress Garcelle Beauvais and producer Lisa L. Wilson together have formed Beauvais Wilson Productions, a brand new production company. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the joint venture is an effort to get more diverse and inclusive stories into the mainstream.
Beauvais Wilson Productions will focus on film and television projects and aim to offer dynamic, barrier-breaking content that matters to audiences.
Beauvais told THR:
“We’ve always had a love for movies and filmmaking. Now seeing how the industry has changed, there’s a lot more need for content across the board. Our company will give us the opportunity to control the narrative and create dynamic stories.”
Beauvais, well-known for her time on The Jamie Foxx Show, was most recently seen as a host on Fox’s entertainment-news talk show Hollywood Today Live. This summer, she’ll appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming
Wilson is a producer, writer, and development executive whose work in film and television has earned her high praise as well as an Emmy award.
This new effort comes at a great time. Now, more than ever, audiences are seeking to find their faces, voices, and stories on screen. And it looks like Hollywood is taking notice.
