Star Wars: Episode IX Release Date & More From Disney Revealed
It’s been a busy Tuesday for Disney and we the people have nothing to complain about! News on Star Wars: Episode IX & Indiana Jones was just released over at StarWars.com including the release dates for both projects.
Episode IX is set to release on May 24, 2019 and will be directed by Colin Trevorrow. Episode IX will be the end of the most recent Star Wars trilogy. The movie won’t be following in the footsteps of the last 3 Star Wars films (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Rogue One, and the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi) which all had a mid-December release.
The release date for the fifth installment of Indiana Jones was also found on the site with a later date than originally planned. Both Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg will be returning for the film which debuts on July 10, 2020. This is a change from the previous date (July 19, 2019) that was announced back in March of 2016.
It doesn’t stop there for Disney though folks! Jon Favreau highly anticipated live-action Lion King movie’s release date was announced on the director’s Twitter.

This will Favreau’s second go at a live-action disney classic after his success with The Jungle Book. The Lion King cast is far from complete. We have confirmed reports of Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones returning as Mufasa, and Beyonce rumored to play Nala (although I think her voice is perfect for the role of Sarabi, Simba’s mother).
Lastly, Disney Animation’s Twitter handle released the date for the Frozen sequel. I mean, Disney was letting it rain with news, why not add a little snow (ok sorry, that was corny).
