Captain Marvel to Begin Filming February 2018

Phase 3 of Marvel Studios’ shared Universe is about to take off at full speed. In a couple of week, fans will get treated to James Gunn’s Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2, and a couple of short months after that, Spider-Man: Homecoming will also it theaters. With all these films coming out, it’s easy to lose track of every other Marvel movie that’s coming out in the next few years. One that people are definitely anticipating in 2019’s Captain Marvel, which will feature Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel as the first headlining female superhero in the MCU.

It was just announced a few days ago that the directing duo of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck would be helming the project. With that news being released, fans didn’t expect it to take that much longer for them to revealed when filming began for this installment in the MCU. Well thanks to an interview with Kevin Feige (via collider), the filming schedule for Captain Marvel has been revealed:

“Assuming everything stays on schedule, we start filming … Captain Marvel in February.”

We’re all aware that Black Panther comes out during that month, so it looks like Marvel will come hot off promoting and releasing Black Panther, and go straight to Filming Captain Marvel. At the same time, we all know how frequently these schedules change in Hollywood, so we’ll just have to wait and see if Marvel actually sticks to this time frame that they’ve set.
