New Photos of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Ride at Disneyland Resort
Since it bought Marvel, Disney has slowly added more of a connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to its theme parks.
Now it’s set to open its first Marvel themed ride in the United States. New photos have offered fans their first official look at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission BREAKOUT! at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim.
The attraction takes guests through the Collector’s Fortress where the Guardians have been added to Taneleer Tivan’s collection. As riders move through the line they can see all the rare items Tivan has amassed from around the galaxy.
The story of the ride tasks guests with rescuing the Guardians and helping them break out.
The outside facade has a very industrial look of exposed metal pipes and tubes. While there are hints of the previous attraction The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the building is now completely themed to the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
The grand opening kicks off the park’s Summer of Heroes, which features shows and appearances including Black Widow, Hawkeye, Spider-Man, Captain America and of course the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission BREAKOUT! is set to open at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim May 27. Of course savvy park goers know that they can get lucky and ride it during a soft opening in the weeks leading up to the official opening.
