The Chaste Will Return In ‘Marvel’s The Defenders’
The Marvel/Netflix Universe is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Marvel’s Iron Fist has been making waves after its debut last month, The Punisher series is currently in post-production, Jessica Jones is currently filming its second season and of course geeks all around the world are waiting in anticipation for Marvel’s The Defenders series to hit the stream screen this summer. As time draws near, more news is starting to surface about what fans can expect from the series. Now with the casting confirmation of Chilean action star Mark Zaror (Machete Kills) as the character Shaft in the series, it also confirms the return of The Chaste.
The Chaste is a group of assassins led by Daredevil’s very own mentor Stick who serve as the sworn enemy of The Hand. Zaror’s character Shaft will be the third member of The Chaste to appear in a Marvel/Netflix show. The first being Stick played by Scott Glenn (Sucker Punch) and the second member was the character Star played by Laurence Mason (Prison Break) who appeared in a flashback episode of Dardevil where he was killed by Elektra (Elodie Yung). The presence of The Hand has been looming over the heroes of the Marvel/Netflix universe for quite some time now. So if another member of The Chaste is making an appearance, The Hand is not too far behind to wreak havoc on our street level heroes. Only time will tell the part The Hand will play in the plot of The Defenders or what Zaror’s character will be doing but until then we can rest assure that the fight scenes will be LIT!
Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. Burdened with their own personal challenges they realize that they just might be strong when teamed together. The series will star Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Luke Cage, Finn Jones and Sigourney Weaver. The cast will also include a mixed roster of characters from all of the Marvel/Netflix shows including Simone Missick, Rosario Dawson, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie-Ann Moss, Jessica Henwick, Rachel Taylor, Eka Darville and Elodie Yung.
