Han Solo’s Name won’t be Changed In Anthology film
Star Wars fans across the world are still coming down from the high of this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida. People were honored, things were introduced, and some questions were answered.
Something that many fans were curious about when they went into the celebration last weekend was related to a tweet from reporter Ben Fritz that was shared after a press conference held by Disney CEO Bob Iger. Check it out below:
Han Solo movie will follow him from age 18 through 24 and show him finding the Falcon, meeting Chewbacca, and getting his name, Iger says

While a few things were said here, the one that stood out the most was the “getting his name” portion. This was confusing to many fans, seeing as how Han Solo’s real name is, well.. Han Solo. Luckily for all of those frustrated fans, they don’t have to worry about any such name change from our favorite scoundrel.
While speaking to MTV at SWCO, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy clarifies on the statement that Iger made:
“I’m not sure that that’s entirely what Bob meant. There’s more to Han Solo’s name, but it’s not that it’s not his name. It’s obviously his name. It will always be his name (laughs).”
It’s a sigh of relief to know that Han Solo’s name isn’t being changed at all. That would ruin the character for some (like me, honestly). We just hope that while the film is set to show Han’s life from age 18 to age 24, they still manage to stay true to the iconic character that Harrison Ford brought to life years ago.
