Update: Manu Bennett Denies ‘Arrow’ Return
Fans of Arrow were very excited when star Stephen Amell tweeted that Manu Bennett would be reprising his role of Slade Wilson/Deathstroke. The news was later confirmed by executive producer Marc Guggenheim. However, it appears there is more to the story.
Bennett tweeted that he is not coming back to Arrow. He went on to say that he is currently on the other side of the world filming The Shannara Chronicles.
For the record – I'm not going back for Arrow! #assumptionisthemotherofall…

Guggenheim later tweeted that he could confirm that Bennett’s voice would be in the season finale. Based on Bennett’s reaction this might just be previous footage re-edited for new scenes.
Happy to confirm that you will definitely hear the voice of @manubennett in Arrow's season finale.

Bennett got in on the social media madness with an instagram post of a mysterious threat toward Arrow.
So while Deathstroke may be back in Star City, Slade Wilson might not be. Deathstroke previously appeared in the season five episode Invasion as a vision Oliver had to fight. This version of the character was not played by Bennett.
Ultimately fans will just have to wait for the season finale to air to see what incarnation of Deathstroke returns.
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 pm on The CW.
