That’s right, princes & princesses. Coming to America is getting a part 2. According to Tracking Board who broke the news, Paramount Pictures has reportedly hired writers Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield, the men responsible for writing the original film, to write the sequel.

Coming to America is a 1988 film that tells the story of a young African prince from the fictional country of Zamunda. Tired of living his over-pampered lifestyle, he and his close friend, played by Arsenio Hall, decide to travel undercover to America in order to find him a bride who will love him for who he is as a person, and not for his status as a prince. The film even spawned a brief television series and was nominated for two Oscars: one for Best Costume Design and one for Best Makeup.

The sequel is still in the very early stages of being made and there’s currently no word on whether or not Eddie Murphy’s character of Price Akeem Joffer will be making an appearance.
