Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds Team Up In “The Hitman’s Bodyguard”
Lionsgate has released the first red-band trailer for the decidedly NSFW upcoming action-comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
The film stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, who seem to bring tons of chemistry to the trailer. Reynolds’ is the world’s top protection agent, and is tasked with protecting his greatest enemy, an assassin played by Jackson.
The two are paired together for an adventure filled 24 hours, and even encounter a merciless Eastern European dictator (Gary Oldman) along the way.
The trailer is filled with expletives, including Jackson’s signature swear word. Car and boat chases are shown, as well as arguments between the duo, all to the tune of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”
Patrick Hughes directs, hopefully bringing some cinematic action to the hilarity. The film also stars Salma Hayek as Jackson’s wife, Elodie Yung, Joaquim De Almeida, Kirsty Mitchell, and Richard E. Grant.
