‘Queen Sugar’ Season Two Premiere Date Released
After an extremely successful first season, OWN’S hit family drama Queen Sugar is set to return for season two with a two night premiere June 20 and June 21.
The show stars Kofi Siriboe, Rutina Wesley and Dawn-Lyen Gardner as three siblings who reunite to run their late father’s Louisiana farm. The series follows their personal struggles and relationship drama.
The show, which is executive produced by Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay, will once again feature an all female directing team. Though she directed the first two episodes of the first season, there is no word on whether DuVernay will helm any season two episodes.
The 16 episode season will be split into two cycles. Half the episodes will air in the Summer and the rest will air in the Fall.
The other big news for the show is that it will now be featured on Hulu. Season one will debut Friday, April 21, with subsequent seasons available after they air on OWN.
Season two of Queen Sugar premieres on OWN Tuesday, June 20 and Wednesday, June 21.
