In the second season of Daredevil, we were introduced to Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. Bernthal’s portrayal of Frank Castle was met with positive reviews and fan fare, resulting in Netflix creating a standalone series, The Punisher.

Filming of the series is well underway and we finally have a glimpse of Castle decked out in his full Punisher regalia, including the iconic skull embellished bulletproof vest.

In the images, you can tell Castle probably has a few rough nights under his belt lately with bullet marks riddling his vest and a bruised face.

Bernthal will be joined by Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman and Michael Nathanson in the series.

An official release date has yet to be set for The Punisher but it is expected that Netflix will stream the series after The Defenders, which arrives on August 18.
