Gal Gadot Listened to Beyoncé to Prep for Wonder Woman Role

In the new cover-story for W Magazine, Gal Gadot revealed that she listened to Queen Bey in order to prepare herself during the audition process for Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Gadot admitted that the experience was “torture” because she didn’t initially know what role she was auditioning for when director, Zack Snyder, asked Gadot and six or seven other women to screen test for the part.

After referring to waiting as “enemy number one”, Gadot said, “I was losing my mind.”

So, she did what any number of us would to do relieve stress and channel our inner goddesses – she rocked out to Beyoncé, specifically the songstress’ hit track, “Run the World (Girls)”.

Gadot explained, “Who runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyoncé!”

It’s great to see the thanks from one Wonder Woman to another, especially when Beyoncé definitely fits into the positive role model criteria Gadot has spoken about on many occasions.

In a March 2016 press conference, Gadot said, “It is so important for girls and boys to have a female, strong, superhero to look up to. The more the merrier and there is plenty of room for many more women to come and I am very happy to be a part of it.”

Of course, there hasn’t been any talk of a Wonder Woman sequel just yet, but maybe a role or cameo for Beyoncé could be considered?! Just a hopeful thought.

Be sure to catch Wonder Woman when it hits theaters on June 2.
