Dolph Lundgren Joins ‘Aquaman’

Dolph Lundgren, known for his roles in Rocky IV and more recently, the Expendables movies, has dived into the comic world to join the cast of Aquaman, alongside Jason Momoa who will play the titular underwater superhero.

The cast for this movie currently includes Jason Momoa as the title character; Amber Heard as Mera, Aquaman’s love interest; Nicole Kidman as Atlanta, Aquaman’s mother; Patrick Wilson as Orm, a villain and Aquaman’s half-brother; Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Aquaman’s advisor; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the villainous Black Manta; and Temuera Morrison as Aquaman’s father.

Lundgren is slotted to play King Nereus of the aquatic kingdom Xebel.  He aims to destroy Aquaman and claim Mera for himself.

Aquaman is Warner Bros.’ big-screen take on the DC superhero, directed by James Wan, and will swim into theaters December 21, 2018.
