Jude Law Cast as Young Dumbledore in Sequel to ‘Fantastic Beasts’

According to Variety, two-time Academy Award nominee, Jude Law, has been cast as a younger version of Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Law will portray the beloved Professor long before he is the Headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the new film, Dumbledore will be seen during his time as the Professor of Transfiguration.

President and Chief Content Officer of Warner Bros. Pictures, Toby Emmerich said, “Jude has been a member of the Warner Bros. family for years and we’re excited to embark on this new adventure with him.”

J.K. Rowling made her screenwriting debut for Fantastic Beasts, is set to write the screenplay for second installment, with David Yates returning to direct.

Eddie Redmayne will be back as Newt Scamander, with Johnny Depp reprising his cameo as dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald and Zoe Kravitz back in a bigger role as Leta Lestrange.
