Hot off the press from The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Brolin has nabbed the role of Cable in the upcoming Deadpool sequel.

Brolin is a surprise, considering his name was never mentioned among the other actors in contention like Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon, and David Harbour.

Sources say that Brolin’s deal is for four films. He will star alongside Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the ‘Merc with a mouth’ and Atlanta breakout-star, Zazie Beetz as Domino.

David Leitch will direct the 20th Century Fox picture, with filming set to begin this June in Vancouver.

Brolin is familiar with Marvel films as he plays Thanos, the archenemy of the Guardians of the Galaxy crew and the main antagonist in the 2018 film, Avengers: Infinity Wars.
