Brie Larson: Captain Marvel Wants to ‘Make the World a Better Place’
We are now into Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and one of the heroes we are preparing for is Carol Danvers, better known as Captain Marvel.
It’s been close to a year since Larson was first announced as the superhero, but we still do not have many details about the film and what it will entail.
There have been a few interpretations of Captain Marvel in the comics over the years, so Larson could have her pick of any. But the Academy Award winner recently told SciFiNow what her version of Captain Marvel would be like:
“She’s a believer in truth and justice and she is a bridge between two worlds, Earth and space. She’s fighting between the flaws that are within her and all this good she wants to try and spread and make the world a better place. She can also fly and shoot things out of her hands. And she’s really funny!”
Now, Captain Marvel will not be the first hero to fight for justice and the betterment of the world, however it’s great to see that Brie is also speaking about the flaws Carol has as well. Many times, the heroes flaws are not front and centre or brushed aside due to the work they do. But it seems a different route will be taken as it pertains to Miss Danvers.
Captain Marvel will be the first film led by a female superhero in the MCU and it also boasts a female director and female writing team. So, there is no mistaking the importance of this film.

The Captain Marvel solo film arrives in 2019, but we may catch a glimpse of the heroine in the 2018 film, Avengers: Infinity War.
