More Returns Possible in ‘Agents of SHIELD’S’ Framework
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’s current storyline is one giant What If book. More specifically what if Hydra was able to take over.
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier it was revealed that Hydra had secretly been working within SHIELD for years, manipulating events to eventually run the world as they see fit.
In the Framework Coulson (Clark Gregg) is a teacher who supports Hydra and opposes Inhumans.
On Agents of SHIELD, the entire team is trapped inside an extremely realistic computer world called the Framework, where Hydra reached its goal. This new reality has allowed the return of Brett Dalton as Grant Ward.
Now executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen are saying Ward may not be the only favorite coming back. In an interview with Comic Book Resources at Wondercon, they hinted that Deathlok, Victoria Hand and Rosalind Price could possibly appear in the Framework. Viewers also have to wonder if Bobbi and Hunter could return in this alternate reality.
“There will be some of them, there will be some of your greatest hits. In the Framework anything can happen,” said Whedon.
Altering the entire makeup of the MCU in such a way provides an endless list of story surprises.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 10 pm on ABC.
